The holiday cottage industry in South Devon is competitive yet full of scope. You have to be ahead of the game to win. As a result, our client asked us to help them fine-tune their targeted print campaigns to existing customers, helping them maximise return visits.
Our client had an extensive database which we worked on together to find the data we needed. We then used this data to personalise each direct mailer via our software, so that each mail-piece was unique.
Data we used included personalised imagery (dependent on previous holiday locale). In addition, we included pet or child requirements, holiday frequency and family size.
For example, a client may always take their holiday in a particular town each year and is known to be a middle-aged couple with a dog. Therefore the personalised mailer for this client would contain only content relating to those specific needs. Details such as child-friendly attractions or information on other towns were excluded as they weren’t relevant.
This personalised direct mail gave each recipient a targeted, highly relevant call-to-action. This meant that all the unnecessary clutter was removed, leading to improving ROI and increased visitor numbers.
