We’ve taken another decisive step towards our decarbonisation plan – solar panels are now installed on the roof of our packaging production plant, further reducing our environmental impact.

At Newton Print, being carbon neutral and minimizing our footprint isn’t just a goal—it’s a passion. Investing in solar power was the obvious choice, allowing us to generate our own clean, efficient energy without relying on fossil fuels. The result? A reliable and eco-friendly power source that not only benefits the planet but eases the strain on the energy grid at a time when this country really needs it. A true win-win.
Environmental analysis from Callidus highlights the impact: our solar system is equivalent to planting 714 trees per year, saving 11,853 liters of fuel annually, and preventing 13,471 kg of coal from being burned.
Simon Besley, Managing Director at Newton Print, says:
“The work we’ve done over the past few years to make a real and lasting positive impact on the environment has taken a real step forward with this solar installation. We’ve been focussing hard on how we can get to a Carbon Neutral stage, and now we’re in a great position to start giving back to the environment. Adding solar panels to this production site makes so much sense and we’re delighted to finally make that happen.”

But we’re not stopping here – our commitment to sustainability continues. From refining our processes and materials to proactively helping our customers find ways to reduce waste in their own packaging, we’re always looking for ways to lessen our environmental impact and lead the way in responsible business.
