How can I cut costs on my packaging by changing sleeve width?
Part 1 of 3
Are you facing rising costs in your supply chain? Are you trying to figure out how you can reduce your packaging costs without impacting quality?
If so, take a look at our three-part video series exploring how you can cut costs with a bit of creativity and ingenuity. Printed packaging questions answered by our team of trusted experts. In this video we discuss how you can reduce the unit cost of your packaging sleeve production by adjusting its width.
For example, you might have a sleeve that covers the entire tray, the entire width of the tray that’s 200mm for argument’s sake. But if you reduce that to 180mm, so you’re only reducing it by around an inch, you might be able to get six sleeves on a sheet rather than four; just a tiny difference like that can make a big difference.
We really recommend that you talk to us if you’re looking to cut the costs and you’re prepared to accept a sleeve that doesn’t necessarily fit the entire width of the tray. Visually, there might not be that much difference but it could make a huge difference to the unit cost.
So that’s something we really recommend and we can show you some examples as well of how that works and we will give you some pre-production samples so you can see how much difference it makes to the end product’s visual appearance.
