We recently caught up with our Operations Director, Luke Besley, to find out a little bit more about him.
On a day-to-day basis Luke helps our production team keep everything running smoothly. He makes sure they have everything needed to fulfil jobs, such as inks and materials and also arranges transport for completed items.
He occasionally helps in production, with photography for the marketing team when needed and assists with quotes, and order processing too.
What do you enjoy about your job?
“What I enjoy most about my job is being able to improve internal processes, so they impact positively on the customer. For example, looking at how we can make a particular stage in production more efficient, so jobs can be completed more quickly to enable shorter, more competitive turnaround times.”
Tea or coffee or neither?
“Coffee first thing in the morning, tea anytime.”
Favourite biscuit or cake or neither?
“I am more of a sweet than savoury person and like most cakes and biscuits, so this is a tough one… my favourite has got to be freshly made carrot cake though.”
Hobbies – how do you spend your spare time?
“I enjoy most outdoor activities and we’re lucky with the coast and Dartmoor and Exmoor on our doorstep, so I get to do plenty of walking and swimming in the summer. But my favourite thing to do in my spare time is road cycling. I get out as often as I can as it helps keep me fit and is great for clearing my mind and de-stressing!
“I also enjoy photography – mainly landscapes and night-time photography, which is something I’ve not done for a while, but I am keen to make more time for it!”
